Today is Matt’s birthday! Yay! We are spending the WHOLE day celebrating!
“helping” mommy with breakfast. She put those sunglasses on all by herself!
This morning, Adelaide and I got up before Matt and made him coffee and the most decadent french toast you can imagine! This is what we had for breakfast:
REAL french bread french toast that had been soaked in a custard overnight, topped with cinnamon butter, hand-whipped cream and real vermont maple syrup. OMG, TO DIE FOR!
After we finished cloggin our arteries for the morning, Matt opened his birthday cards! I had a lot of fun customizing his birthday cards on tinyprints.com, and they were a big hit!
Then we took Matt to work, came home for Adelaide’s nap and went back to OHSU to meet him for a little farmers market shopping and lunch. Every Tuesday, OHSU hosts a small farmers market. Matt has been going almost every week and enjoying the lunch options provided by various vendors. I was so excited to finally make it out today! In addition to some lovely AND AFFORDABLE fruit and veggies, I also enjoyed a lovely caprese salad and raspberry limeade. It was very tasty! Two of Matt’s coworkers, Scott and Alan, joined us for lunch on the lawn and Adelaide had a blast running from person to person trying to collect as many name badges as she could.
Two name badges collected so far!
Mmm, fishies from daddy
Trying to get Scott’s name badge again.

When Matt gets home from work this evening I’ll be cooking up a rare treat, homemade tempura! All those fresh veggies from the farmers market will be perfect! And of course, for dessert, we will be enjoying some german chocolate birthday cake, one of Matt’s favorites!
