Ahhhhh, it feels so good to finally scream that into the internets. I can’t even express how suffocating it has been to keep this HUGE secret offline for the past eight weeks. It’s been a big eye opener into how intertwined my online and in-person lives have become. I told some close friends around week six, so I’ve had people to talk to and confide in during my early weeks of pregnancy, but for some reason it just didn’t feel real until I could announce it on Facebook and my blog.
We wanted to wait until after the first trimester ultrasound to make sure everything was oky-doky before telling the world, so here we are. My official first blog post about being pregnant with my second little peanut.
What a different experience this second time around! As far as symptoms go, I’ve experienced a little more nausea than my first time around. During my first pregnancy I didn’t take a single sick day, and really don’t remember having any trouble getting out of bed and going to work everyday. Maybe having a job was the catalyst to help me overlook the strange things my body was doing, but anyhow. This time around, I had two weeks where I felt like crap. I didn’t want to eat anything, or drink anything, and pretty much just laid on the couch as much as possible. But those two weeks passed and I’m feeling much better now! My energy is coming back and food is starting to taste normal again. THANK GOODNESS! I can’t even imagine living through three months OR MORE of that. Ugh, awful!
Anyhow, since I was under internet silence for the past two months, I’ve been keeping an offline blog of sorts so I could remember to share some fun (and not so fun) things about my early pregnancy. In an effort to save you from the world’s longest blog post, I’ll break up my weeks into separate posts. To get things started, here is week four:
Week 4: One day late. Just like last time. I peed on a stick and almost instantly it popped up with “YES+”! Since last time I peed on a stick I made Matt look first, this time I wanted to look first. In fact, I did the test 15 minutes before I left to pick Matt up from work. I was super excited, and the whole drive to his office I tried to think up some creative way to tell him the news, but I was just too excited!! So I settled for presenting him with the positive test as soon as he got in the car. Kind of a surprise-and-delight ambush. I made sure I had the camera and caught an amazing “before and after”. It wasn’t impressive or even very memorable, but it was exciting!
Positive test = happy!!
Happy mommy and big sister to be!
