My sister, Dana, and her boyfriend, Dustin, drove out from Colorado to spend last week with us! It’s been a busy week…here’s what we’ve been up to!
Monday: The park
After Adelaide’s nap we went to our neighborhood park! Adelaide got to “go swinging” followed by an exploration of the basketball court and baseball diamond with Dustin. After our time at the park, we went down the street to the Laughing Planet Cafe for smoothies and some dinosaur fun!
Tuesday: Rose Garden
Tuesday morning we visited Portland’s Rose Garden. It was the first time Dustin and Adelaide had been there—I think they enjoyed it!
Wednesday: Woodburn Company Stores
On Wednesday, we spent the morning shopping at the Woodburn Company Stores. Adelaide was cooperative for most of our trip, however after an epic tantrum in the middle of the mall, we cut our trip short and headed home. Shopping with a two-year-old requires so much work that I failed to take any photos during our trip. Here are two I snapped after the fact: Adelaide’s new hat, and the sister shirts I found at the Carter’s store.
Thursday: The Oregon Zoo!
On Thursday we spent our morning at the Oregon Zoo! We had a fantastic visit. Most of the animals were being fed while we were there, so we got to see A LOT of animals out and about, moving around. Adelaide seemed to really respond to seeing all of the animals, however, I think her favorite part was making Dustin and Dana chase her all over the zoo!
Friday: Jamison Square Fountain
Friday afternoon we made a trip to our favorite fountain! Adelaide enjoyed herself immensely (as usual) and we finished our afternoon with a cold sweet treat: Adelaide’s first ice cream cone!
Dana and Dustin left for Colorado on Saturday. It was wonderful to have them visit! Adelaide misses them both dearly and we’re trying to convey the concept of time, and when she will be able to see them again. This is probably the hardest part of being two!
I'd love to hear what you think!
