We celebrated Cadence’s fifth birthday, with a magical unicorn party! Shades of pink, pastels, and sparkly gold created a party fit for a princess and her favorite friends!
We kept it small, with a guest list consisting of three sets of sisters—six little girls was really the perfect number for a birthday party in our home.
I took over the girls’ play room for the party and decorated with framed unicorn art I found on Etsy, a cardboard unicorn standee as our treat table backdrop, and some simple pennant and star banners.
The treat table was set with macarons, white chocolate dipped pink wafer cookies, cupcakes, rice crispy treats, unicorn chow, pink lemonade and an outstanding unicorn cake from my local bakery.
The personalized tumblers from Shindigz were a huge hit! Twist-on lids that don’t leak, with straws—so awesome! The girls could carry around their pink lemonade without me worrying about spills. Hooray!
Guests arrived to a table set with our first activity—unicorn balloons!
Then we moved on to “Pin the Horn on the Unicorn”—always a winner with this age group!
The game was followed by a light lunch—ham and cream cheese sandwiches, pink yogurt, and fruit skewers.
Once lunch was finished, we ran a few balloon relay races. Everyone had to run around the kitchen with a balloon between their knees, and then sit on the balloon until it popped. So many giggles!
Then we sat down for unicorn cookie decorating!
We continued our sugar rush, with cake!
And finally, another craft—butterfly wands!
A magical afternoon was had by all!
