Over the last two months, Adelaide has blown Matt and I away by successfully giving up her pacifier, with little to no protest. We’ve been AMAZED!
To be completely honest…it was harder for me to give up her paci than it was for Adelaide. She’s had that paci since she was four days old…when she was my tiny baby. She needs me so much less now than she did two years ago—her paci was a very tangible way for me do something to make her feel better.
I know that it had to go, though. When we found it on the floor every morning for several weeks, we figured she probably wasn’t missing it too much.
Anyhow, our big girl is now paci free!
Ever since paci started going away, we’ve noticed Bear’s presence increasing. So, I’d like to take a brief moment and introduce you to Bear.
Bear out to brunch.
Bear at the grocery store.
Hugs and cuddles with bear.
The whole bedtime crew: Bear, Rabbit and Bunny.
Bear taking out the recycling.
Adelaide was given Bear at my baby shower by our good friend Nina (aka Aunt Nina). Bear is a sweet, soft, non-noisemaking, plush bear by Carter’s and I am now on the hunt to find another one! I have no idea how long Bear will be an important part of Adelaide’s life, but on the off chance that she follows in my footsteps (my childhood lovey went to college with me)…I want to be prepared incase she accidentally looses Bear at 4th grade sleep-away camp.
🙂

Aww, I remember Timmy the rabbit. And I remember when he went off on his own adventure. I totally get why you want to get a Bear double, and I think it’s a good idea. I’ll let you know if I come across one.
