On Thursday of our week in Houston, we decided we were going to go to the Downtown Aquarium. My sister, Stacy, joined us and we made the drive downtown only to arrive at the Aquarium and see the admission line circling the block. I think everyone from NASA the day before decided to go to the Aquarium! That, or, Houston just has a lot of people…all of whom are interested in fish….
Regardless, we just kept on driving!
My mom and my sister were quick-thinkers, though, and came up with an awesome plan B! Discovery Green is a 12-acre park in the middle of downtown Houston with a playground, fountains, lake, dog run, restaurants and gardens. It was also pretty crowded, but because of the openness of the park and the fact that it was free, we didn’t mind joining the crowd.
Adelaide was one of the youngest kids there, so the play structure was a little rowdy for her. She did eventually find the slide, and thoroughly enjoyed using it!
Once she discovered the fountains, though, we knew that we would be taking home a wet toddler. She ADORES water and we were not prepared for a day of running through fountains…but we let her run through them anyway!
When she was done running through the fountains, we stripped her out of her wet clothes and changed her out of a sopping wet gDiaper and into a fresh, dry diaper. Since we didn’t have any other clothes for her to wear, she got to eat lunch in her diaper!

This was such a fun park! It’s already been added to our list of things to do on return visits to Houston.
