Week 5: I keep forgetting that I’m pregnant. I’m still totally asymptomatic so it’s hard to remember that my life has changed in a big way. I left the positive test on the bathroom counter so every time I walk by I get a little reminder of the tiny little life growing inside me. According to babycenter.com, at 5 weeks, our little peanut is the size of a sesame seed. So here’s a photo of me at 5 weeks with a sesame seed on my tummy. It always amazes me how much critical development happens in these first few weeks. By week 10 the baby is officially out of the embryonic stage and into the fetal stage. AMAZING!
Week 6: Ok, I’m feeling pretty crappy. My mouth tastes gross all the time. Water is the most repulsive thing on the planet and absolutely nothing sounds good to eat. I don’t remember feeling like this last time. Uuuuggghhhh….it’s going to be a couch day…days….week? Supposedly, our little peanut is as big as a lentil this week. It doubled in size since last week! No wonder I feel like crap…
Week 7: I basically lived on bagels and cream cheese last week. Unfortunately, my diet included very few fluids, and I’m paying for it big time. Horrible chapped lips, debilitating fatigue and super dry skin. Iced tea has been my savior. Something about the taste really agrees with me, and I found that if I load up the glass with ice and make it really really cold, it tastes even better. Here’s to a week of re-hydrating. Our little peanut is now about the size of a blueberry!
Week 8: After another week of bagels and cream cheese I’m finally feeling like eating a another food group. Cereal! Where have you been all my life!? OH, and I have to share a seriously awesome find—GUMMY PRENATAL VITAMINS!!! I would not have been able to take vitamins over the past two weeks had I not found these little gummy wonders. They don’t have as much of all of the other vitamins that a regular pre-natal pill has, but it has the important stuff like folic acid, calcium, iron and DHA. I’m feeling much better so hopefully I’ll start partaking in the family meal time again. This week, our little peanut is as big as a kidney bean. SO MUCH GROWING!

Praise God for gummy prenatals! Every time I feel too sick to take a normal I take gummies. Also, Arizona green tea with honey has beeny stomach soothing, hydrating friend the past few weeks! Excited to read about your progress.

Thanks for the comment, Jontal! I’ve enjoyed hearing about your pregnancy experience too. It’s so fun to know people who are going through the same things!!
